Pastoral Residential Program at King’s Cross

Position Overview:

The pastoral resident program is an immersive and hands-on program designed to provide individuals with practical experience and mentorship in pastoral ministry. This residential position offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth within the context of a supportive church community. As a Residential Pastor, you will work closely with experienced pastors and ministry leaders, gaining valuable insight into various aspects of pastoral care, leadership, and church administration.

Responsibilities:

  •  Pastoral Care: Assist in providing pastoral care and support to church members, including hospital visits, counseling, prayer ministry, and crisis intervention.
  •  Worship and Preaching: Participate in planning and leading worship services, including delivering sermons, leading prayers, and coordinating with worship teams.
  •  Discipleship and Small Groups: Facilitate and engage in discipleship programs, small groups, and Bible studies, fostering spiritual growth and community building.
  •  Outreach and Evangelism: Collaborate with the outreach team to organize and participate in community outreach initiatives, evangelistic events, and service projects.
  •  Administrative Support: Assist in administrative tasks such as event coordination, church communications, data entry, and managing pastoral schedules.

Qualifications:

  •  Strong Faith and Commitment: A deep personal faith in Jesus Christ, a passion for ministry, and a desire to serve others.
  •  Theological Education: Pursuing or possessing a degree in theology, ministry, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  •  Excellent Communication Skills: Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills for preaching, teaching, and interpersonal interactions.
  •  Compassion and Empathy: A heart for people and the ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals in various life circumstances.
  •  Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, showing flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
