    Snow and sleet pounded a large swath of the East Coast on Saturday, killing three and coating roads with ice and causing hundreds of crashes.  

    In Kentucky a man died when his pickup truck went off a snow-slickened road Thursday. 

    The Weather Channel reported that two other deaths in Oregon and Maine have also been blamed on the weather.

    Thousands of people lost power and forecasters warned of blizzard-like conditions from Virginia to parts of the Northeast.

    WASHINGTON, March 20 (Reuters) - U.S.
    airlines have canceled hundreds of flights at three major U.S. airports this week after a series of coronavirus cases involving air traffic control personnel.

    The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) temporarily closed the air traffic control tower at John F.
    Kennedy Airport in New York early Friday before reopening it around 11:30 a.m. ET (1530 GMT). The FAA also shuttered part of the Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center for cleaning after workers tested positive for the coronavirus.

    The FAA said a technician at JFK had tested positive and air traffic controllers had been operating earlier from an alternate location on airport property.

    American Airlines Group Inc said it canceled 20 of its 68 scheduled departures car service from manhattan to jfk JFK on Friday due to a reduced incoming arrival rate after traffic control was shifted to the other location.

    In Indiana, after an air traffic control supervisor tested positive, the FAA vacated work areas at the Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control and flights through the airspace handled by those sectors were rerouted.

    Air traffic control towers remain closed at Chicago Midway and Las Vegas airports after other coronavirus cases were reported earlier this week.

    Airlines have canceled more than 700 flights on Thursday and Friday at Las Vegas and more than 800 over the last two days at Midway, according to flightaware.com.

    Southwest Airlines has resumed operations in Chicago after canceling more than 200 flights on Thursday.

    Last year, Trebek posted a video on Twitter and YouTube telling fans he'd been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, but that he remained hopeful. "Normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I'm going to fight this, and I'm going to keep working," Trebek said. 







    Trebek hosted the long-running Jeopardy series since 1984, and his contract was to continue through 2023. New Jeopardy episodes hosted by Trebek will continue to air through Dec. 25. His last day in the studio was Oct. 29.

    "He was a legend of the industry that we were all lucky to watch night after night for 37 years," Jeopardy executive producer Mike Richards said in a statement. "Working beside him for the past year and a half as he heroically continued to host Jeopardy was an incredible honor. His belief in the importance of the show and his willingness to push himself to perform at the highest level was the most inspiring demonstration of courage I have ever seen. His constant desire to learn, his kindness and his professionalism will be with all of us forever."

    Kennedy rode on the morning of his assassination has sold for $375,000 at auction.

    The 1963 Lincoln Continental was used to chauffeur the President, Jackie Kennedy and Texas Governor John Connally on the morning of the fateful day of November 22, 1963.

    They travelled in it through Forth Worth before boarding a  flight to Dallas where Kennedy was assassinated in another Lincoln Continental later that day.

    The second limo is on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.

    The white Lincoln up for auction was not part of the President's fleet of security vehicles but had been loaned to Connally for the visit.

    It was later sold to a private customer and changed hands many times before it was bought by Jim Warlick, a collector of presidential memorabilia at an auction in 2013.

    He offered it at Bonhams American Presidential Experience auction where it had its engine replaced and repainted, but the red interior remains original.

    The auctioneers had expected it to fetch $500,000 but it ultimately sold for $375,000.

    Known as 'Limo One' the white Continental was used to transport the President and First Lady during their trip to Fort Worth after the four-door had been loaned out by local car dealer Bill Golightly.

    It had some extra unusual features including a two-way phone.  

    The interior of this car also remains mainly the same but the body has been restored.  

    The projected price on this car had been between $200,000 and $300,000 but it failed to sell.

    Also up for sale at the Bonhams auction Wednesday for around $300,000 is the bulletproof limo JFK used for personal jaunts around Washington, D.C., pictured above

    What you need to know about Black Friday 2020

    Black Friday 2020 is shaping up to be a very different kind of shopping experience than any holiday shopping weekend in recent memory. With ongoing inventory issues due to the extended global pandemic -- not to mention the need for retailers to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees -- it's likely that there will be no throngs of expectant customers lining up for hours ahead of massive doorbuster sales.

    In fact, a number of stores will be closed on Thanksgiving this year, ending a long-standing tradition of kicking off Black Friday sales before the turkey has had a chance to cool. These retailers have not yet announced plans for Friday, Nov. 27, but we'll update this article as we learn more about their holiday hours. 

    In addition, all of the retailers listed below require customers to wear face coverings. Unless their policies change between now and Thankskgiving, it's reasonable to assume that face coverings will be required for Black Friday sales as well.
