The Master of Theology (ThM) is a 2-year program designed for students who have earned a 3-year MDiv degree from a recognized school. This program allows students to concentrate their coursework in one or more fields of specialization, to develop a high level of competency in that area. Available specializations include Old Testament, New Testament, Systematic Theology, Church History, Mission/Intercultural Studies, Practical Theology and Christian Education. An Interdisciplinary Theological Studies specialization is available for those who would prefer to integrate various disciplines.
Language & Course Schedule

English : Monday through Friday: 8:30 am - 7:00 pm (2 or 3 days), Saturday classes may be offered for students with a Christian Education concentration
- Interdisciplinary Theological Studies: Monday: 9:30 am - 7 pm (further class options available on other days)

Graduation Requirements

Satisfactorily pass 30 credit hours of coursework and obtain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (cumulative)
Satisfactorily pass the comprehensive exam (normally taken during the 2nd year)
Submit an acceptable thesis and defend it before an academic panel (or submit two major papers)
Complete 3 semesters of Field Education
Complete the program within 4 consecutive years

Academic Information

Academic Load : Average 7-9 credits per semester
Students must fulfill their 3-semester Field Education (FE) requirement at a local church or Christian organization while they are enrolled at Torch Trinity
ThM students who are not TTGU MDiv graduates should take the MDiv GI5000 Theological Research and Writing class as a P/NP requirement during their first semester.
