Shalom TTGU!

May the Lord make his face shine on us and be gracious to all of you today!

Spring is right around the corner, and winter has finally given up on trapping us in minus-zero weather, for the most part. And now the Student Council invites you to attend the Spring Retreat for 2022!

It's been about two years since Covid-19 has hit us in Korea, and it feels like the world has completely changed since then in unpredictable ways. But now the winter of Covid is starting to give way and we are no longer obliged to interact through only a zoom screen, though it remains an option for us. This applies to the Spring Retreat as well! We can finally hold the Retreat in offline form this semester, and you can bet we're looking forward to it! How great is it to gather in person and worship together in the name of the Lord!

The theme of this retreat is "Knowledge that leads to Love" following the Bible verses of 2 Peter 1:6-7. Our faith in the Lord's guidance has brought us here, and we supplement that faith with the knowledge and character learned from seminary life. With that knowledge and the love of God and our fellow man in our hearts, we ask the Spirit to work in us and let us grow and be fruitful wherever we go, be it in our homes, our workplace, or our ministries. And all that, in turn, is all so that we can bring glory to the Lord in all things.

We are a community where our differences are more pronounced than our similarities. We are made up of people from many nations with different cultures and different ages, in different circumstances with different expectations of what the future will be. But what unites us all, varied as we are, is that we accepted the Lord into our lives, and stepped into this place because our thirst to know him was greater than our fears, and our love for him was greater than anything the world could give us.

Let us remember that a retreat is where we seek God's face, love him, and find joy in his presence. It is where we find like-minded comrades in both vision and ministry. It is where, as a believer, we reconfirm our pledges to him, and find the strength to continue on in our studies here. May these goals be reached by every one of us in this retreat, not our own efforts, but because it is by God's Will.

Finally, we ask as a precautionary measure that those coming offline double-check their state beforehand by using the home/self-test kit to check for covid. This is for the safety of all taking part in the retreat, and we ask for your understanding on this matter.
