Academic Warning
Academic Warning
Students will receive an academic warning each semester their GPA falls below the required minimum. Repeated academic warnings may result in disenrollment.
 
Academic Warning Standards
Program Standards
Master of Divinity (MDiv)
Master of Arts (MA)
Master of Theological Studies (MTS)
Master of Education (MEd)
Master of Worship and Church Music (MWCM)
Semester GPA under 2.0
or two or more instances of course failure
Master of Theology (ThM) Semester GPA under 2.5
or one or more instances of course failure
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Semester GPA under 3.0
or one or more instances of course failure

If a student's cumulative GPA falls below the required minimum GPA for graduation, the student will receive a warning from the Dean of Academic Programs separate from the academic warning.

 
Notification of Academic Warning
After the semester, when the modular grade check period is over, students will be individually notified of academic warnings.
 
Disenrollment due to Accumulated Academic Warnings
Students will be disenrolled after receiving two academic warnings (three for MDiv students)
Students who are to be disenrolled due to accumulation of academic warnings may appeal once for release using the following procedure:
  • Submit a Petition Letter to the Academic Committee
    (through the Academic Office)

  • Academic Committee’s Review

  • Students will be Notified of Result
