This is a totally unofficial award the Roadshow crew decided to award this morning, but we present to you the world's ugliest new car: the Aznom Palladium. That's what you see here, and there's a lot to unpack with this thing.
Aznom Automotive, based in Italy, took a Ram 1500 and gave it a total overhaul for what we think was absolutely the worst. This is a little bit like someone cobbled together a Rolls-Royce design onto a pickup truck and it's so, so strange to take in. Part of the problem is the fact Aznom covered the Ram's truck bed so we get a strange, sort of Whoville-mobile design. It's not pretty.
But the company thinks there's a market for this contraption. The Palladium is supposed to straddle the line between "hyper limousine" and a vehicle that can handle its own on any terrain. So, like a loaded Ram 1500 Laramie but with a lot more opulence, in the company's opinion. On the "nyc limousine review" part of things, Aznom definitely struck that well because the dimensions peg the Palladium to measure 20 feet long.
What is actually interesting is the powertrain. The company tuned a 5.7-liter V8 engine and slapped two turbos on it to create 710 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic handles shifts. Even though it's an ugly duckling, for sure, it will get up and go. But this beast weighs nearly 6,000 pounds -- the Palladium might need every pony to really scoot around. In an odd break from the all-terrain prowess Aznom claims, engineers wrapped the massive 22-inch wheels in Yokohama Advan Sport tires. Those won't do much good off regular pavement. The finer details surrounding the suspension are out, but Aznom said there's a highly capable suspension system in place five arms linked in the rear for better stability and a set of shock absorbers provide a surprising amount of off-road capability.
Inside, "gaudy" is the word that comes to mind, but there's no doubt the materials are premium. A vast majority, including the headliner, is covered in Foglizzo leather and the seats boast a special pattern Aznom designed. The same materials move to the rear, where the company believes owners will spend the most time. Back there, passengers also have their own HVAC system to control the temperature.
No word on prices for the Palladium, but there are buyers in line for this machine. Aznom said it worked with clients to design the interior, but it's not clear just how many the company plans to build. When production does start, Aznom will assemble each car in Italy and we're dying to see one of these in the wild to get a better sense of how odd it is in person.

The issues began on Saturday and last night some people were still without their cars more than 30 hours since they had arrived at the airport.

Journalist Mark Payton, 54, flew into Stansted from a family holiday in Nuremberg, Germany, with wife Abby and daughter Ellie, 20, on Monday night and still doesn't have his car back.
He touched down at 11.30pm and went to collect the family's car from the Meet and Greet service after paying £99 to park there for four days.
But he was met with a crowd of people whose car keys had gone missing and was eventually given a taxi back to his home in Twickenham, south west London, getting back at 4am.
He said: 'I am 54 but it must count as one of the most surreal things I have experienced. They had ten staff behind the desk. Really none of them had much of a grip on where anything was.
'They were rummaging through boxes, with three or four of them stood round a single box.
'I asked for the manager.
They said it would be 20 minutes. I gave it twenty minutes and then said 'It's not going to be 20 minutes, is it? And she went 'No it's not.'

'I was relatively calm, but I'm amazed it didn't kick off,' Mark said.
'It was getting really steamy.
We eventually got in a taxi about 3am. There were loads of people in the same boat. We are trying to figure out how this has happened.
'Your one job is to park a car. How can you lose cars? I have no idea when my car is going to be returned.
It's in a place called Zulu Car Park, which apparently has 5,000 vehicles in it.'
Mark said he'd wanted to go into the car park to find his vehicle at the time, but there was little point as staff couldn't find his keys.
'I was planning to make the two and a half hour journey back this afternoon with my spare key and look for my car,' he said.
'The one thing they haven't offered is my parking fee back.
They did pay for a taxi though.
'My wife made the point that there were loads of people there with young kids and they were getting really stressed out.
'I have been down to the police this morning but they say it's a civil matter and won't let me report it.'

The Meet and Greet allows drivers to drop off their cars and car keys and have workers park for them, saving them time.
But 'a number of issues saw some of those using the service missing their flights.
Many drivers said the service had lost their car and keys with some only reunited with them yesterday.
One onlooker said irate drivers were screaming at staff and on-site police had to be called in after a backlog of uncollected vehicles and technical issues led to long waiting times.
Raynor Croll said yesterday on Twitter: 'After 22.5 hours meet and greet Stansted found my car!'
Shane Roberts said to @holidayextras: 'Stansted meet and greet have lost my keys and cannot locate car.
Booked through you, what do you suggest I do?'
Chris McLoughlin said: 'So, Stansted airport car park has LOST our CAR and KEYS. Absolute shambles. Never use meet and greet parking. Ever.'

The Meet and Greet service is popular as it allows those catching flights to leave their cars with professional drivers who find a parking space, log the condition of the car and then park it in secure areas.

Upon returning, their car is brought back to a holding area meaning they can simply grab the keys and drive away.
But over the weekend, problems developed with the service and, according to Twitter, many cars were mislaid.
Some families were given taxis to make sure they got home.
Those trying to claim refunds may have to wait up to 14 days to get their money back.
A spokesman for the airport, on the Essex-Hertfordshire border, said they were 'deeply sorry'.
He said: 'London Stansted's Meet & Greet car parking operations suffered a number of unforeseen issues on Saturday that caused significant disruption to customers over the weekend.
'We are deeply sorry and apologise unreservedly for the inconvenience and disruption caused to all customers who have regrettably been impacted.
'The airport has put extensive service recovery plans in place which includes allocating some arriving customers to other onsite car parking and arranging complementary taxis to minimise disruption and ensure returning families get home as soon as possible.
'All those customers who experienced delays will automatically be contacted and receive a full refund plus a compensation payment for the inconvenience caused.
'The performance of our Meet & Greet service has fallen well below the standards we strive to provide our customers, and for this we sincerely apologise.
'Our teams are working extremely hard to address the technical issues that have impacted Meet & Greet and fully recover the service.
